Russian Federation Transport Minister M. Sokolov and St Petersburg Vice-Governor I. Albin agree TRANSTEC Event programmes to receive official support in perpetuity during NEVA 2017 Conference

The Russian Ministry of Transportation has mandated official support for TRANSTEC 2018, after officially recognising the event’s position as St Petersburg’s biennial conference and exhibition focusing on Russian ports and shipping.

The recognition, given in response to a request from the Government of St. Petersburg, was acknowledged at the opening session of the city’s Maritime Council session, held for the first time within the NEVA Conference Programme, with formal thanks given by Vice-Governor Igor Albin to Russian Minister of Transport Maxim Sokolov for his support to this week’s NEVA 2017 and his continuing attention to St Petersburg’s transport development issues. He added that TRANSTEC 2018 was no less important, and asked the Maritime Council to support this event’s status as the city’s maritime focus for ‘even’ years, with NEVA continuing as the regular show for ‘uneven’ years.

The Vice-Governor added that St Petersburg would continue to develop cultural and public events devoted to the sea and river fleet activities within the ‘St Petersburg’s Maritime Assembly’ framework, which recently initiated annual navy parades in the northern city.
