“Security of Ports and Shipping” Session organised by Maritime News of Russia

The 1st Conference for “Security of Ports and Shipping: innovation, technology, equipment”, organised by the publishing house “Maritime News of Russia” was held during the Conference TRANSTEC 2014 in St. Petersburg October 2, 2014.

The conference discussed the possibilities of cooperation of state structures with seaports, investors, manufacturers of port equipment and fleet for the development of port infrastructure and improving the quality of services for the transportation of water modes of transport, with contributions from:

  • Vitaly Klyuev, Deputy Director of the Department of State Policy for Maritime and River Transport of the Russian Federation presented a report on transport safety during the conference.
  • Mikhail Karpenko, chief security officer of the North-West Basin Branch FSUE “Rosmorport” expressed the need to make changes and additions to regulatory support in the area of transport security.
  • Igor Ignatov, Deputy Head of the State Sea and River Supervision (Moscow) gave a speech on the methods for reducing accidents in maritime transport.
  • Sergey Savelyev, deputy director of the ACP and the Baltic branch of the FBU OSR “Marine Rescue Service Rosmorrechflot” spoke about the activities of State Marine Rescue Service to ensure the safety of water areas of ports.
