Seaports Magazine Organises 2nd Conference “Technologies for Russian Ports: An Effective Investment”

The 2nd Conference “Technologies for Russian Ports: An Effective Investment” was organised by the magazine “Seaports” on 3 October 2014 within the TRANSTEC 2014 Conference framework and extended meeting of the Committee on the Mechanisation – ASOP – Association of Sea Commercial Ports.

The conference was entirely devoted to technical and organisational solutions that can be implemented to improve efficiency in seaports, including the following sessions:

  • Possibilities of import substitution cranes in Russian ports – Edward Ayvazyan, Commercial Director of ZAO “SMM”.
  • Use of advanced remote control systems for loading equipment – Oleg Schatz, Head of Loader Sales ZAO “Konecranes”.
  • The representative of the corporation Liebherr Nikolai Kochnov described his company’s proposals for trans-shipment of floating funds. He also spoke about the recent Liebherr unique project in Russia – floating crane capacity of 45 tonnes, which was built by “Port Kolomna.”
  • Maxim Maximov, Commercial Director of “Solvo” presented a report on innovative technologies for efficient management of goods handling and handling equipment.

Many speakers at the conference shared their experience in operating new equipment and implementation of advanced technologies in the ports. Separate sections are devoted to the issue of conference residual resource and modernisation of VET, as well as logistics transport hubs.
