NEVA 2015 Conference set for Comprehensive Programme of Events

A fantastic line-up of events is scheduled over the 4 days of NEVA 2015, including well-established conferences on the subjects of ‘Port Equipment’ and ‘Safety for Shipping’. Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) is running a presentation series, with each session addressing a different area of its business activities.

The RS full schedule of mini-seminars will include 8 separate sessions covering the following topics:

  • Standard requirements of RS and International association of classification societies for propulsion systems
  • Approval of products for marine applications – 2 Sessions
  • Information services for client PC
  • Dates discipline of the terms of ship survey
  • Production approval within the procedure of mutual acknowledgement with EU RO MR
  • Polar Code-what is necessary to know?
  • Approval of ship equipment which is influenced by low temperatures (Winterization)

A joint seminar organised by Maritime Petersburg LLC and Innovation Norway will discuss the “Norway maritime industry for Russian shipbuilding”. The half-day conference, to be held on 23 September, will focus on the products and services which Norwegian companies provide to the Russian market. Participating companies will present their state of the art innovative solutions and products. Companies confirmed include major maritime organisations such as DNV-GL, Jotun and Navico.

On the 24 September a workshop is scheduled to explore the business opportunities and trade relationship between Russia and Finland. An initiative resulting from recent discussions between the Presidents of Finland and Russia on international cooperation in the field of shipbuilding, “The Finnish technology for the production of marine equipment in Russia” workshop is a joint project of The Trade Representation of Finland “Finpro”, JSC “United Shipbuilding Corporation” and LLC “Marine Petersburg”.

Economic cooperation between Russia and China has been growing in strength over recent years, especially in the maritime sector and this is reflected within the NEVA 2015 Programme. A business seminar, “Possibilities and shipbuilding industries of St. Petersburg for the Chinese shipbuilding companies, manufacturers of marine and industrial equipment” is scheduled for 24 September. Organised by the China Business Centre (St. Petersburg) in conjunction with ExpoForum-International. The new China Business Centre, St Petersburg, established in November 2014 within the IV Russian-Chinese “Business with China” forum, is a platform for business communications between Russia and China. The China Business Centre is preparing to welcome a special delegation from China to Neva 2015, with particular interest in Russian exhibitors. The seminar will highlight opportunities to interested companies and provide an environment to engage and network with decision makers and counterparts from the rapidly developing Russian commercial maritime sector.
