Association of Commercial Sea Ports expects major development during TRANSTEC 2016

The TRANSTEC 2016 programme is warmly introduced by ASOP President, Mr O. A Terekov in his recent welcome letter.

In accordance with the agreement on cooperation between ASOP and the Directorate of TRANSTEC, prospects for the development of the TRANSTEC Exhibition and Conferences for Ports and Shipping were reviewed by a number of leading specialized committees and experts within ASOP. The Committee on Investment Programmes of Port Infrastructure Development and the Committee for Technology and Mechanization of ASOP recommended the possibility to use the TRANSTEC Programme as a system platform for the promotion of interaction between government agencies, ports, investors and structures of related modes of transport on port development and port infrastructure and superstructure. During TRANSTEC, the ASOP Committee for Technology and Mechanization of ASOP organises regular sessions and the presentation of the port machinery and equipment. This meeting, which traditionally involves the Committee for Technology and Mechanization of ASOP and the Magazine “Sea Ports” is once again scheduled to take placed within the framework of TRANSTEC 2016.

In 2015, the RF Parliament adopted the Federal Law on the free port of Vladivostok, involving a substantial reduction of taxes and duties and the creation of a comfortable climate for entrepreneurial activity. During 2016, there are plans at the legislative level to consolidate the mechanisms for the spread of modern “Porto-Franco” and other seaports and surrounding areas.

Development of sea ports for 2016 will touch the areas of: improving efficiency, shipbuilding innovations and solutions to vessels in the ice-breaking and auxiliary fleet, ensuring navigational safety, vessel traffic management, improving navigation, the enhancement of environmental security in seaports of the Russian Federation, improving design process efficiency, new construction, reconstruction, modernisation and technical re-equipment, sea port infrastructure operations, including regulatory framework in design improvements, sea port infrastructure construction, sea port management and organisation of activities and increasing economic and functional efficiency.
